Synthesis-Gas Production from Methane over Ni/CeO2 Catalysts Synthesized by Co-Precipitation Method in Different Solvents

Ni/CeO2 catalysts were synthesized by the coprecipitation method in a basic medium, using different solvents: water, methanol, ethanol, and isopropanol (Ni content, 10% wt.). These tested production of syngas through oxidative reforming methane (ORM), partial oxidation (POM). The results this research demonstrated that use alcohols (methanol, isopropanol) during preparation method, improved their characteristics such as crystallite size (nm), surface area (m2·g−1), reducibility (measured H2-TPR) influenced on catalytic performance ORM POM reactions. best solvent study was isopropanol. co-precipitation led to formation filamentous carbon catalyst after water proved be inefficient reactions amorphous
